First off, thank you.
I appreciate you for giving me your time and readership. And if I do my job as a writer, you won’t be disappointed.
I may make grammar mistakes sometimes…
I may curse sometimes…
But if any of those things bother you, that’s cool. You can get the hell out :)
So let me welcome you to a new mini-series I’m calling “From Scratch”.
In this series, I’ll be attempting to be build a business completely from scratch.
And I’ll be doing with little to no start-up costs.
I’ll be documenting all the strategies and my thinking around my approach along the way.
So this could end up in a massive success…
Or a massive dud.
But either way, like a mentor once told me…
“There’s no such thing as wasted work. Only work that either works for you or on you.”
So if all else fails, this project will work on me and sharpen my skills along the way.
Anyways…
Why am I doing this?
I know I’m going to sound like one of those cheesy motivation speakers…
But I have such a deep respect and gratitude for business and what it’s done for me.
I don’t have a rags to riches story to tell you (still working on it).
But I was someone who suffered from social anxiety and believed my destiny was set.
Work 40 years for some pharmacy company and then enjoy my life at 65. That’s what my ex-girlfriend’s dad told me during my last year of school.
And somewhere along the line, I asked myself…
“Why should I?”
My family may follow the practices of Buddhism, but I don’t believe in a second life (sorry not sorry).
So why not me? Why can’t I control and create the path of my own life?
The decision 5 years ago to rip up the form for my pharmacy licensing test was the beginning.
And since then, I’ve started to become a person I can truly say I’m proud of.
A person who’s:
Confident in myself.
Confident in my skills.
Unafraid to take risks and face fears (besides stuff that has to do with heights, still working on that)
Unafraid to speak my mind.
And not to mention, throughout my business journey…
I’ve gotten to work with an NBA team, NBA Hall of Famer, Fortune 500s, and other incredible online brands.
It’s a complete 180 from the person I was 5 years ago. And I’ve been able to do things that I never would’ve imagined.
So even if I don’t achieve massive success in business, I am still grateful for the person I became along the way.
And that’s what I’m hoping to accomplish with this newsletter.
If one person out there will read this newsletter and become riddled with enough inspiration…
Enough inspiration to remove all excuses and take action towards their dreams…
Then, I know I’ve done my job here.
So this newsletter will give you a peek into my mind around my current businesses and the ones I start here in this series.
I want to show you how to spot opportunities and how to use your skills to capitalize on these opportunities.
For me - those skills revolve around writing, strategic thinking, marketing, and sales.
So I won’t be inventing anything new, coding AI to destroy the world, or anything outside my core skills.
But I hope you could download my mental syntax and use it to find success for yourself.
So what is the first business I’ll be attempting in this series?
A newsletter agency for MMA fighters.
And why…?
Because I love the sport of MMA.
I appreciate the dedication and commitment it takes to succeed at the elite levels of the sport.
I love the uncertainty of it. A fighter can dominating for 5 rounds, but all it takes it one shot to lose it all (a-la Leon Edwards vs. Kamaru Usman).
And even though I don’t have any interest in becoming a professional fighter…
I still approach business and personal development with the same mindset of winning.
Plus, I believe I have skills that could create massive value for this niche.
Will it be true?
Guess we’ll find out.
Thank you for following along. It’s going to be fun one.
